"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and in the power of God: that your faith would not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
Several years ago, a man walked into a store and was looking to purchase a fire extinguisher. He selected an extinguisher that he wanted and proceeded to carry it to the counter for purchase. When the cashier looked at it, he said "Sir I cannot sell you this fire extinguisher." The man surprisingly asked, "Why?" "Well"... said the cashier, "this is for Display Only...see here where it says For Diasplay Only - Not For Resale".
Paul, in writing to the Corinthian's said, "My words were not enticing words of man's widom... but in demonstration of the Spirit." In other words "I wasn't just a display to you, I had the real substance. I didn't just say something or present myself to be something I'm not. I demonstrated to you through the power of the Spirit who and what I really am."
Think about that for just a moment. Does your life have real substance or are you just putting on a show? Paul, in writting to Timothy said there would be those in the last days that would be, "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof : from such turn away." (2 Timothy 3:5)
Thanks be to God, because of Pentecost, we can have not just a form, but the real deal! We don't have to be "For Display Only" but fully charged and Ready for Use!
