"and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep." (John 10:12)
The Bible likens the children of God to lambs and sheep. We all know that the enemy of the sheep is the wolf. Of course the devil, we know, is the wolf that tries to destroy us. What many Christians do not realize is that the devil will come right into the church disguised as one of the sheep. They are unable to discern right from wrong and therefore are devoured by these wolves in sheep's clothing. The frightening part is, when the wolf is disguised as a pastor. Undiscerning members blindly follow this false prophet to their demise.
Jeremiah said this would be a sign of the last days "For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered" Jeremiah 10:21
Look around, see what is happening in churches everywhere. The pastor, or should I say "hirling" has not taken care of his flock and the sheep have scattered. Lord help us to return to your protection where you are the door to the sheepfold.
