The Fruit is not for you!

Have you ever passed by a grape vineyard and spotted a huge cluster of those round berries with the semi-translucent flesh that seems to glisten in the sunlight? The deep, blueish-purple color and seemingly plump juicey skin makes you want to reach out and take one to taste it for yourself. Aaaaah! So sweet, and juicy! It is sweet, just as you suspected. Now you want another then another. It is so delicious. Who enjoyed the fruit, the vine, the branches, or you? You of course!
Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing" (John 15:5). Did you ever wonder then, who is the fruit? Paul said, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" (Galatians 5:22-23). The Holy Spirit working through us is the fruit. So, the fruit is not for you, it is for others to enjoy. The real question then we should be asking ourselves is, "What kind of fruit are we producing for others?" Do others see that juicy plump grape, or a dried and withered piece of worthless fruit? As long as we allow the Holy SPirit to flow through us, we will continually produce fruit for the benefit of others. Are you producing good fruit?
